#GWfor52 - weeks 1&2

First hobby blog for a little while.

Along with some other stores in the UK my local Games Workshop is participating in the motivational challenge titled #GWfor52.  Basically each week you set yourself a hobby challenge and get it done and post it on your local stores Facebook page.

I am blogging about it here as well with in time a bit more detail.

Week one

My first week task was to complete the Khorne Herald conversion I had started a week or do before.
The model is a head swap with the body of the new Slaughterpriest and the head from the Khorne Herald from the Skull cannon/Blood Throne kit.   Simple but effective.

Start

Finish

Week two

For week two I wanted to make a start on the base for the Herald from the previous week and build a 5-man Death Company squad as an aim for the year is to make a dent in my Blood Angel 30k force and Flesh Tearer 40k force

Pretty much done.

Week 3 will see an attempt to get some paint on to the DC

Tavern Brawl: Return of Mechazod

Welcome to an old brawl with a slight tweak.

A while ago Blizzard released the first multiplayer Tavern Brawl, a priest and a paladin vs Mechzod.

This was a lot of fun with some good synergies in the two decks.   It was fantastic with a friend rather than a random player especially if you were together to quickly strategise as you went.

This time round the classes are different it is Mage and Druid, there are some synergis between the two but I feel not with as much as the previous version.
Everything else is the same.

Enjoy!

Tavern Brawl: Battle of the Builds

Welcome to the first brawl of the new year.

A quick note, Blizzard have changed the launch time of the brawls, they now go live at 10pm every Wednesday this change (from 4pm in Wednesday) means the brawl blogs will tend to be on a Thursday/Friday from now on.

We have a new brawl for the new year

The rules are not very clear here so a quick heads up, given the above information you then pick a class and build your deck, build it to one of the three archetypes above.

When the brawl starts you are given an option of 4 abilities, what you pick works just for you and will boost your deck depending on your build.

It is a good brawl to really try what you want and have fun with it, Brann Bronzebeard for battlecry decks, Baron Rivendare for deathrattles, big spell turns with tempo Mage style or Archmage Antonidas or epic murk of pally decks with everyfin is awesome etcetera. Or lots of buffs on the free minions for some big burst turns.

Quite a fun brawl this week enjoy!

New year new posts

After a lull at the end of 2015 it is time to fire up for the new year.

Expect more hearthstone posts, mostly tavern brawl but it should get mixed in with tactics articles and some interesting arena runs.

My local Games Workshop is running a 52 week hobby challenge which I am taking part in so there will be some more hobby articles as well.

All this on top of anything else that takes my fancy.

Hope you enjoy!
